DAFTAR JUARA Liga Primer Inggris


Sebanyak 23 klub telah menjuarai top flight Inggris, dan Manchester United merajainya dengan rekor 19 gelar.

Kemenangan 2-1 atas Chelsea di Old Trafford pekan lalu membuat Manchester United hanya memerlukan satu poin lagi untuk memastikan the Blues tak mampu mencuri gelar lewat selisih gol.

Dan syarat itulah yang persis didapatkan Manchester United saat bertandang ke Blackburn.

Wayne Rooney, yang sempat mengancam akan keluar pada pertengahan musim sebelum memperpanjang kontrak, menjadi pahlawan saat menyamakan gol Brett Emerton dari titik putih.

Chelsea pun tak bisa lagi mengejar karena berselisih tujuh poin dengan dua pertandingan sisa, dan harus merelakan gelar yang mereka dapatkan musim lalu berpindah tangan.

Gelar liga ke-19 milik Setan Merah tentu sangat berarti bagi fans Manchester United.

Akhirnya tim kesayangan mereka berhasil melewati pencapaian 18 gelar liga domestik milik Liverpool, yang terakhir kali mereka dapatkan pada musim 1989/90.

12 gelar liga di bawah asuhan Sir Alex Ferguson sejak itu, cukup untuk meresmikan Manchester United menjadi klub tersukses di kompetisi domestik Inggris.

Patut ditunggu apakah kebangkitan Liverpool di bawah asuhan Kenny Dalglish, yang memberikan gelar juara 1990 itu, pada penghujung musim ini bisa bertahan hingga musim depan, sehingga dua tim raksasa Inggris dan dua manajer legendaris itu dapat saling membuktikan diri untuk menjadi yang terbaik.
